Something to lift your spirits when you think you feel down

Missing Wellington...

While packing to leave Wellington/New Zealand, there was a lot of stuff that I couldn't take - books mostly. But I realised I could probably get them anywhere, libraries, book stores etc. The things that I could never replace were people and the time I spent with them.

That's what upsets me now... the fact that my friends will not be there any more - Ray, JP, Nikita, Simone, Kristi, Weij, Ozge, Simon, Giselle, Sharon and Alan...everyone else who came to my farewell! All the places I've been to in Wellington, I'll never enjoy them the way I used to again.

I think my cheese has moved again.

The message here is - you can replace 'stuff' but you can't replace memories. So collect memories and experience life, spend time with the people you love because that's not replaceable.

Another Chance

If I had another chance tonight
I'd try to tell you that the things we had were right
Two life changing things happened to me in the last couple of days. The first, I was selected to an internship in Singapore for UBS, that was big... the second, Kristi the first member of my team to leave. It felt like a big part of our team was ripped away.

I was reminded of a music video of a song by Robert Sanchez on the way home this morning. It starts off with a girl walking down the street of a big city carrying a big heart and as she walked along she encountered many different challenges because of her heart. When other people treated her without care or consideration, her heart grew smaller...and by the end her heart had dimished into almost nothing of the size it used to be.

I realised that I felt a lot like that by the middle of 2006. But while working in my team, I felt my heart begin to heal again, especially in the last six months. As I saw kindness and experienced appreciation, beauty and love again I felt my heart grow and come out of its pocket. Kristi, Simone and Nikita, Liam, Sharon and Alan, all the people in AIESEC in New Zealand, our Board, and my friends around the world (especially the MCPs) contributed to this. It was their support and care that showed me there is still a lot of heart in this world.

So as I sit here typing away, crying happy-sad tears on my last day in the MC flat...I really want to say thank you to all of them. I have gained a lot of new friends and a lot of new insight into life this year. I know that I don't know everything but that the most important thing is to appreciate the people around you who teach you about what life really is and what it can potentially become.

Sing Star with the new MC

So here I am on a Monday night, just a normal Monday but with a couple of differences. I have a job interview, yay. And the new MC are sitting in the lounge (Wojtek, Andrey and Sneha) singing at the TV.

Let me entertain you? They're entertaining me!

I can't wait til the videos get onto facebook and youtube.

This should be good.

Oh yeah and I've finished my term. More on that later.
